Swimming at Wichita State

Swimming at the Wichita State University pool, right there in the Heskett Center, was more than just a workout for me. It brought back a flood of memories from when I used to live in Wichita. I loved swimming there back then, and stepping back into this pool felt like returning to something familiar and grounding.

Every lap reminded me of how far I’ve come and why I started this journey in the first place. The environment, the energy, even the sound of the water, it all came rushing back. It wasn’t just about training that day. It was about reconnecting with a part of my past that helped shape who I am today.

Swimming at Heskett will always be special to me, and I’m grateful I got to come back.
